A band of radio frequencies that are used for cellular mobile telephone service. The B band of frequencies are assigned for use by the incumbent (local) phone company.
Part of a telephone system power supply that supplies direct current for operating relays and other components. The B battery is typically 20 volts.
A logical channel in an Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN) that provides a 64 kbps connection to a switching system or to the non-switched portion of a network. This channel is used for transferring voice or data information between customer premises equipment and an end-office switching system.
A connector that is used for splicing twisted wire pairs. B connectors are sometimes called beans. B connectors are shaped like a plastic tube that is approximately 2.5 cm (1 inch) long. They include metal teeth inside to help ensure a good connection is made when the B connector is crimped (compressed) and to ensure that the connector will not slide off the splice. Some B connectors contain a water-retardant jelly inside to reduce the effects of corrosion on the wire splice.
