Description

Benchtop rotary vane vacuum pumps and systems are compact devices designed to create and maintain vacuum conditions. They are typically used to achieve a vacuum by removing gas molecules from a sealed volume, thereby reducing the pressure within that space.

Working Principle

The working principle of rotary vane vacuum pumps involves a rotor with vanes mounted inside a cavity. As the rotor turns, the vanes slide in and out, maintaining contact with the pump housing. This action divides the working chamber into two separate spaces with variable volumes. Gas enters the enlarging suction chamber and is then sealed off by the second vane. The enclosed gas is compressed until the outlet valve opens against atmospheric pressure, allowing the gas to be expelled. This mechanism is effective for creating a vacuum and is particularly useful for applications requiring high displacement capacity and deep ultimate vacuum levels .
