Daddy is it, will it, was it? No living soul knows how many dozens more of beginnings to a potentially infinite number of questions that a youngster will ask.
The mind of a child to the teacher parent friend is like pristine marble to the sculptor, or a fresh, clean canvas to the artist. When an adult has the opportunity to teach a child any child if it isn t, it should be considered a special honor; not to be taken lightly. Here before this adult is a smiling (or frowning) freckled-faced computer chip that the teaching adult can (at least, try to) program in any way he or she chooses; so choose wisely.
The Wisdom of Solomon or the most vile of graffiti scratched side-by-side into the damp sand of a beach will be forever erased by the next high tide, leaving an unblemished surface behind. Not so with a child.
The young mind is pliable, but strong, like heavy new tie-wire. If this new wire is pulled and tightly twisted around the complex curvatures of erroneous or outright fabricated misinformation it becomes very difficult to untwist or un-teach the (now confused and very unfortunate) child involved.
Each time a child has to go through a confusing process of unlearning a piece of misleading information or outright falsehood, they have a hard time fitting the unfami liar and alien truth into their knowledge nest where the falsehood has for X years fit so well.
