Alignment work:
In a nut shell, alignment work is aligning two or more shafts to the effect that during normal operation will share a common axis. Less common is alignment of shafts that must have parallel axes without vertical or lateral angularity involved. This could involve belts or one geared shaft turning another. Normally, one will be the driving unit and one or more will be the driven unit(s). Shaft alignment is only one little facet of the multifaceted millwright craft. It s relished by those whom have mastered it, feared by those whom don t understand how Them little stop watches are so hard to put to sleep.
