Tilt Sensors and Switches
   Form Factor      You can think of products as belonging to general categories based on what they are designed to do and what you have to do to use them. The 'category' criteria attempts to distinguish 'unpacked' sensors that might be used as part of a larger sensor from, say, a gauge which can be read just by looking at it.

   MEMS       Micro-Electro-Mechanical Sensor that senses degree of angle change. 
   Capacitive       Half filled with dielectric liquid. In these devices as the angle increases the dielectric liquid comes in more contact with a vertically orientated etched plate. With more or less contact with the etched plate the capacitance changes. This capacitance signal is then converted into an output signal to indicate the degree of angle. 
   Electrolytic       These sensors function by using a glass or ceramic cavity filled with an electrically conductive fluid. As the sensor is rotated an imbalance is created between the electrodes. This imbalance of one of the electrodes is proportional to the angle of rotation. 
   Pendulum       Pendulum or weight in conjunction with a rotary sensor.

Output
          The type of electrical signal that will be produced.

   Analog       Output voltage is a simple (usually linear) function of the measurement. 
   Digital       The output signal is encoded via amplitude modulation (AM), frequency modulation (FM), or some other modulation scheme, but the signal is still analog in nature. 
   Other       Any digital output other than the standard serial or parallel signals. Simple TTL signals are an example.
