Planning Using Primavera SureTrak Project Manager Version 3.0 Revised 2006

There are eight Activity Types in SureTrak. Activity Types exist to enable the scheduler to more closely simulate real life situations. The Activity Types have their own rules for calculation and should be completely understood by the user before being used.
It is suggested that a new user should experiment with a schedule with two or three activities in order to completely understand the way the software calculates.
Some Activity Types have restrictions on the constraints they may use. For example, a Finish Milestone may not be assigned a Start Date constraint.

Task
Independent
Meeting
Start Milestone
Finish Milestone
Hammock
WBS
Topic
Activity Types may be assigned by:
Selecting the required Type from the Act. Type drop-down box in the Activity form (or typing in the first letter of the Type into the Act. Type drop-down box) or
Displaying a column with Activity Type and updating the column.
Task Activity Type is used for scheduling normal activities. The Activity always utilizes the calendar assigned in the Activity form for calculation of dates and durations.
When an activity is nominated as a Task, the Resource ignores its Resource Calendar, irrespective of whether the Resource is Non-driving or Driving.
Important It is recommended that the Activity Type of Task is used for all work except when specific scheduling requirements dictate the need for another Activity Type.
