1.1 Purpose

The purpose of this book is to provide you with a method for planning and controlling projects using Primavera SureTrak Project Manager Version 3.0. At the end of the book you should be able to:

• Add the logic, relationships and constraints

• Filters and layouts

• Printing and reports

• Record and track progress

• Customize the project options

• Display resource profiles and tables

• Level a resourced schedule

• Understand the impact of activity types and driving resources

• Understand the different techniques for scheduling

• Updating a resourced schedule

• Use the different project utilities.

The book does not cover every aspect of SureTrak, but it does cover all the main features required for scheduling. It provides a solid grounding in the use of SureTrak software to manage projects and other features of the software may be learnt from the help files and manuals.

This book goes beyond explaining how to use the menus but aims to show how to plan and control projects with the software and explains some of the finer points of how gain the most from using SureTrak on your projects.
