Mining. a stripping method that uses one dragline to strip and cast the overburden, while a second line recasts a portion of the overburden.
backdraft(ing)
HVAC. the flow of air down a flue or chimney and into a house, caused by lowered indoor air pressure; can occur from the use of a fan or if the house is relatively airtight.
backfill
Mining. 1. mine waste or rock used for support in an excavation after coal removal. 2. any previous cut material used to fill in an excavation. 3. to fill in an excavation in this manner.
