Mining. 1. any of various forms of mining waste, such as refuse from processed ore or the decomposed outcrop of a bed or vein. 2. see URANIUM TAILINGS.
tailrace or tail race
Hydropower. a water outlet that carries water away from a hydropower site (e.g., a water wheel or water turbine), after the water has flowed through or past the energy-conversion device.
