Chapter 13: Summary
Overview
As you can see in the illustration, we have discussed a project throughout its entire life cycle including updating a schedule and closing it out with lessons learned. Throughout the book, we have made many recommendations that reflect best scheduling practices and we will bring these recommendations together by providing two checklists in this summary chapter:

The economy turned sour and both our friends, Bob and Nob, got laid off. When they accidentally met, they exchanged their experiences. Nob told Bob that he did not get an interview yet, but had some interest from one employer. Bob said that he had one interview coming up. He commented that prospective employers had a special interest in the certificates he had attained over the years.
"What certificates did you get?" asked Nob. "Well, I got my PMP certification from the PMI and then I also became a Black Belt in MS Project through the International Institute for Learning," Bob said with some pride in his voice. "I guess the certificates set me apart!"
Nob asked: "How did you get around to getting these certificates while you were managing your projects? I did not have time for that!"
Bob: "I don't know how I did it, but I did. I am now reaping the benefits from making it a priority at the time."
