Harnessing AutoCAD 2007

After completing this chapter, you will be able to do the following:
Construct geometric figures with the DONUT, SOLID, and POINT commands
Create freehand line segments with the SKETCH command
Use advanced object selection methods and modes to modify objects
Use the modify commands: LENGTHEN, STRETCH, ROTATE, SCALE, PEDIT, JOIN, and MATCHPROP
The DONUT (or DOUGHNUT) command lets you draw solid-filled circles and rings by specifying the outer and inner diameters of the filled area. The fill display depends on the setting of the FILLMODE system variable.
Invoke the DONUT command from the Draw menu and AutoCAD prompts:
wSpecify inside diameter of donut: (specify a distance, or press ENTER to accept thecurrent setting)Specify outside diameter of donut : (specify a distance, or press ENTER to acceptthe current setting)Specify center of donut or : (specify a point to draw the donut)
You may specify the inside and outside diameters of the donut by using your pointing device to specify two points at the appropriate distance apart for either or both diameters, and AutoCAD will use the measured distance for the diameter(s). Or you may enter the distances from the keyboard.
You can select the center point by entering its coordinates or by selecting it with your pointing device. After you specify the center point, AutoCAD prompts for the center of the next donut and continues prompting for subsequent center points. To terminate the command, press ENTER.
