INTRODUCTION

After completing this chapter, you will be able to do the following:

  • Define a User Coordinate System

  • View in 3D using the VPOINT, DVIEW, and 3DORBIT commands

  • Create 3D objects

  • Use the REGION command

  • Use the 3DPOLY, 3DFACE, CONVTOSURF and PLANESURF commands

  • Create meshes

  • Create solid shapes: solid box, solid cone, solid cylinder, solid pyramid, polysolid, solid sphere, solid torus, and solid wedge

  • Create solids from existing 2D objects and regions

  • Create solids by means of revolution and the CONVTOSOLID command

  • Create composite solids

  • Edit 3D solids using the CHAMFER, FILLET, SECTION, SLICE, and INTERFERE commands, in addition to Face editing, body editing, and edge editing

  • Obtain the mass properties of a solid

  • Place a multiview in paper space

  • Generate Views in viewports

  • Generate profiles
