Description
Type 6 Modular Enclosures are designed to provide a degree of protection for enclosed equipment against incidental contact, falling dirt, hose-directed water, and the entry of water during occasional temporary submersion at a limited depth. They are also built to withstand damage from external ice formation .
Working Principle
Type 6 Modular Enclosures work by creating a sealed environment that protects the internal components from external elements. The design ensures that water and dirt do not penetrate the enclosure, even when subjected to hose-directed water or temporary submersion. This is achieved through robust sealing mechanisms and materials that resist corrosion and ice formation. Applications

Advantages over other Modular Enclosures
Type 6 Modular Enclosures offer superior protection against water ingress compared to other types, such as Type 12 enclosures, which are primarily for indoor use and do not provide the same level of protection against water. The ability to withstand temporary submersion and resist ice formation makes Type 6 enclosures particularly advantageous in harsh outdoor environments .
Limitations
One limitation of Type 6 Modular Enclosures is that they are not designed for continuous submersion or environments with high-pressure water jets. They are also not suitable for environments with extreme temperatures that exceed the material specifications of the enclosure .
