Chapter 11: Annotating and Documenting the Drawing

INTRODUCTION

The annotation and documentation of a drawing includes the dimensions, notes, schedules and associated symbols for specifying the size and location of architectural features. The symbols, dimensions and leaders for annotating the drawing are selected from the tool palettes of the Document palette set. The Document palette set includes Annotation, Callouts, Scheduling and Drafting tool palettes. The commands of the Callouts palette and keynoting commands will be presented in Chapter 12.

The Scheduling palette includes commands for creating schedules. The content of tags and schedules is defined in the schedule table style. Each schedule table style utilizes one or more property sets, which are defined for objects listed in the schedule. Schedules can be created that automatically update when changes are made in the drawing. The content of a schedule can be exported to external database files to enhance the use of the schedule data.
