Schedules can be created to list doors, windows, walls, or any object in the drawing. The schedule tools allow you to collect data from one or more drawings and to export the schedule data to a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet. The schedule provides detailed information regarding the size and construction of the object. Each object of a schedule is usually assigned a mark, which is placed as a tag near the object in the drawing. Schedules can be used to determine the quantity of a certain type of building component repeated throughout the building.
Tags and schedules can be developed within Construct drawings, or if project-based tags are used, the schedule can be developed based upon all drawings of the project. When you insert a tag for an object, the properties associated with the tag are inserted in the drawing. The tag is a multi-view block with properties defined in its attributes. The data defined for the properties is extracted and placed in the schedule when the schedule is inserted. The schedule data for the object consists of property sets; the properties of a door schedule are shown in Figure 11.33.
