In an effort to conserve data within a drawing file, AutoCAD automatically loads only one linetype called continuous . If you would like to use other linetypes, such as dashed , you must Load them into the drawing as follows.

1. Select the Linetype.

   

2. Select the LOAD button.

   

3. Scroll down the list and select a linetype.
   (Hold the Ctrl button down to select multiple linetypes)

4. Select the OK button.

   The linetype appears in the loaded linetypes list.

   

5. Select the linetype to assign to the layer.

6. Select the OK button.

   

7. The linetype appears on the layer line.
