We have already set a dimension style ( my_style) in the acadiso.dwt template, so we can now commence adding dimensions to drawings using this dimension style. This style name appears in the Styles toolbar because AutoCAD 2006 opens with the acadiso.dwt template.
Right-click in any toolbar on screen and select Dimension from the menu which appears. The toolbar appears (Fig. 6.1). Two tooltips are shown Linear and Dimension Style. Click on the icon of the latter and the Dimension Style Manager appears. Note the name of the dimension style ( my_style) that appears in the toolbar. If several dimension styles have been saved, a popup list from the field showing all style names will appear allowing a choice of style to be made.
Construct a rectangle 180 x 110 using the Polyline tool.
Left-click on the Linear tool icon in the Dimension toolbar (Fig. 6.1). The command line shows:
