Overview

Under Tools, Project Utilities the following options are available:

• Back Up

• Restore

• Delete and

• Check-in/Check-out.

We will also examine the following features in this chapter:

• Import and export

• Working with SureTrak files

• Batch

• PFX

• And Working with MPX files

26.1 Back-up

This allows projects to be backed up to floppy disks or to other sub-directories on the PC or Network. Projects are backed-up with your layouts.

Compress allows file compression, resulting in a single file per project with a PRX file extension.

Remove Access List, removes security restrictions on a P3 file so that it may be opened by anyone.

26.2 Restore

This restores backed-up files.

26.3 Delete

This deletes a project and ensures all files are deleted.

26.4 Check-in/Check-out

This is an option utilized with Project Groups. It is used to take a copy of a project to a remote location, make changes to the project and then return the project back to the project group at a later date. A warning message is give to any person who opens the file from the Project Group, informing them that the Project has been booked out. A record is kept of who and when files were checked out.

26.5 Import and Export

Import will import data in Lotus 123 WKS, Lotus WK1 and dBase III dbf format. Export allows you to export Text, Lotus 123 WKS, Lotus WK1 and dBase III dbf format. Excel will save and open files saved in all these...
