Chapter 24: Global Change

Overview

Global Change is a facility for changing more than one data item in one step. Examples of the use of Global Change are:

  • Assign resources to activities.

  • Changing Activity ID s by adding, deleting or replacing characters.

  • Copying data from one field to another. For example, copying the % Complete or a date into a custom data item before statusing a project. This would allow you to compare the % Complete between last period and the current period.

  • Creating new activity descriptions by placing activity codes at the beginning or at the end of the original description.

  • Calculate a new estimate of hours or dollars to complete, based on the current performance by using the formula:

    Estimate To Complete = Actual to Date x (100 -% Comp) / % Comp.

  • Changing Calendars.
