Chapter 35: Toolbars and Tool Palettes
Overview

Toolbars have been used since the first line and circle were drawn and most users will probably be more than satisfied with the existing toolbar icon buttons.

It is possible to customise toolbars to user requirements thereby improving drawing productivity.

Tool palettes can also be customised for user blocks and hatch patterns.
Creating a new toolbar

Open your A3PAPER file (drawing or template) with model space active.

Select from the menu bar Tools-Customize-Interface and:

two tab selections: Customise and Transfer

three 'sections':

Customizations in All CUI Files: with hierarchical tree structure

Command List: with categories and navigation ability

Properties: with a general comment area

right-click on Toolbars

pick New then pick Toolbar
and
Toolbars list is expanded with new Toolbar1 added Figure 35.1(a)

right-click the new Toolbar1 name

pick Rename

enter MYTBAR then

new toolbar displayed with entered name.

To add command icons to the new toolbar, scroll at Command List Categories, select Draw and all AutoCAD draw commands listed in alphabetical order.

hold down the left button and drag the command to below the MYT-BAR name

when a black separator line is displayed, release the left button
