Description
Strain Gauge / Bridge Input Data Acquisition systems are designed to measure and record the strain experienced by an object. These systems typically feature multiple channels for strain or voltage input, independent analog-to-digital converters (ADCs) per channel, software-selectable filtering, and independent signal conditioning paths. They often include built-in signal conditioning, programmable excitation, and selectable bridge completion, all configurable on a per-channel basis. These features ensure strong signal integrity and consistent repeatability.
Working Principle
Strain Gauge / Bridge Input Data Acquisition systems operate based on the Wheatstone bridge circuit. A strain gauge, which changes resistance when deformed, is integrated into the bridge circuit. When the strain gauge undergoes dimensional changes, it unbalances the bridge and produces an output voltage proportional to the strain. This voltage is then fed into the ADC for digital conversion. Full-bridge circuits are often preferred due to their high sensitivity and minimal error components, making them optimal for precise strain measurements.
