Aquatic strainers are designed with simplicity in mind. The covers are very easy to remove and they are transparent to allow visual inspection of the basket prior to taking the time for basket cleaning or exchange.
For low pressure pump suction applications, this also has translated into operator time savings in industrial application for many years. Pressure drop, pump performance or flow rates are certainly indications that basket cleaning is required. However, the visual inspection via the transparent lid takes seconds. The machined stainless T-Handle/I-Bolt lid attachment hardware make lid removal and replacement a very fast chore when required.
These strainers are excellent for water systems operating at less than 20 psig down to full vacuum.
