Pro-Server EX is a powerful, yet cost effective data management server that provides real-time reporting of automated manufacturing and production environments at a fraction of the price of a full SCADA system. If all that is needed is the ability to generate MS Excel reports, or to expand the data collection and data sharing capabilities of an existing manufacturing reporting system (like MES or SCADA), then Pro-face Pro-Server EX is the answer.

Pro-Server EX allows data collection, sharing and monitoring from remote Pro-face Operator Interfaces via Ethernet. Pro-Server EX allows users to "see" into their automation process on the factory floor from the convenience of their office. It also helps in saving time and travel by collecting and communicating information, and eliminating the need for "clipboard collection" of data.

OPC Server

The Pro-Server EX OPC Server application (DA3.0 compatible) is included as an additional application option working with Pro-Server EX. OPC is a series of standards specifications for use in process control and manufacturing automation applications to facilitate communication and data exchange. This feature allows connection between a wide variety of OCP client applications and devices.

MES Actions

MES Actions is a licensed plug-in for Pro-Server EX, that allows the sharing of data with other components of MES systems. MES Actions provides the interface between the plant floor, where raw data is collected, and the database from which data analysis for process control and improvement can be performed. At the core of a MES is data collection, and Pro-face MES Actions supports the nine data collection functions within a MES (System).

A Manufacturing Execution System (MES) is a system made up of a variety of components and processes that companies can use to measure and control critical production activities. Collected data can be used to analyze processes, and improve or adjust future actions based on the collected historical information. ROI or SAP are examples of MES Systems.

MS Windows Service

In addition to OPC and MES support, Pro-Server EX can now run as a MS Windows service, meaning that data collection and transfer can continue with MS Windows running even in a user logged off condition, or if the application itself is accidentally shut down.

Pro-Server EX is easy to use with a step by step setup process, using a fill-in-the blank configuration style to guide users along the way. Pro-Server EX allows you to write data to and from a PLC, giving users the opportunity to get data where it needs to go – automatically. No additional drivers or software needed! Pro-Server EX takes advantage of all the protocol connectivity built into GP-Pro EX HMI software, allowing data sharing almost anywhere.

User can even send SMTP emails when trigger conditions occur, helping to reduce downtime by alerting maintenance or production staff. Pro-Server EX can also be set up to allow system integrators to troubleshoot from a distance. Pro-face also provides over twenty-five template reports for Pro-Server EX in MS Excel format, and users can create their own custom reports.
