Santa Fe Springs, November 1, 2000: By using the latest in Tape Automated Bonding (TAB) packaging technology, Densitron has designed an ultra-thin liquid crystal display module that integrates all the necessary drive electronics, electroluminescent (EL) backlight, and EL backlight DC-AC inverter into a single device. The new packaging design has removed the need for elastomers to connect the LC glass to the PCB. The finer pitch employed by TAB packaging allows the driver chips to be bonded directly to the edge of the glass, thereby maximizing the active viewing area and minimizing the inactive area around the display. This technology will enable OEMs to integrate thin, lightweight, and low-power liquid crystal display modules into their handheld and mobile applications at a cost-effective price. Applications include Personal Digital Assistants (PDAs), Global Positioning Systems (GPS), and other handheld devices.

· The PM0149B module has a 320 x 240 pixel matrix (1/4-VGA) with a pixel pitch of only 0.23 x 0.23 mm.

· Overall module size is only 92.2 (H) x 73.3(W) x 7.8 (D) mm (3.63" x 2.88" x 0.31")

· Unique features of the PM0149B include:

1. Lightweight, compact design (weighs only 1.76 oz/ 50g)
